University of North Dakota Ranked 9th in the nation among entrepreneurship programs

The University of North Dakota's Entrepreneurship Program has consistently been recognized for its excellence by Entrepreneur Magazine. This year, the program was ranked 9th in the nation of the 900 schools reviewed. In 2006, the program was recognized as the 8th best undergrad entrepreneurship program in the nation. Here's what Entrepreneur magazine had to say about UND's Entrepreneurship Program:

The University of North Dakota's "Entrepreneurship 2.0" program focuses on helping students develop an entrepreneurial mindset. The school advocates hands-on experiential understanding in the areas of creativity, discovery and opportunity recognition. Students build on this by learning about resource acquisition, customer relationships and venture growth.

Keeping America's Edge in Innovation

The United States has long been synonymous with creativity and entrepreneurship. Just ask anyone listening to an Apple iPod or using Google's search engine. But John Kao worries that America's time in the sun as the world's chief innovator might be up. Kao, who previously taught at Harvard Business School and now advises organizations on how to innovate, says that the globalization of capital and knowledge is allowing the rest of the world to imitate and in some cases even surpass American ingenuity. Kao argues that countries from Brazil to China to Finland are making smarter investments in innovative talent. In his new book, Innovation Nation, Kao explains what he thinks Americans in both the public and private sectors need to do to preserve America's reputation as the land of innovation.
